Installing ventilation system: a complete guide to purchase and installation

If you want to install a ventilation system at a customer's home, there is quite a bit involved. In this article you will find a complete overview with practical tips and "how to's" for choosing and installing ventilation systems. From luch design, construction and set-up of systems, to the choice of different suppliers, delivery of systems to the customer's site and grant opportunities. STULZ knows this market like the back of its hand and takes you step by step through the most important issues. We would also like to introduceour flagship product, the ClimaPac Compact, which makes life easier for you as an installer when it comes to ventilation systems. Find out what to look out for le in all aspects of purchasing and installing ventilation systems.

Aerodynamic design

Every ventilation system requires an aerodynamic design. A well-thought-out aerodynamic design ensures that the ventilation system operates and meets the specified requirements and standards. This design addresses all relevant aspects of the system:

  • The type of ventilation and system choice most appropriate for the specific building (mechanical ventilation, natural ventilation, balanced ventilation or a combination).
  • Air quality requirements and ventilation system standards. Consider the Building Code, NEN standards (NEN 1087, NEN 6079 and NEN 2767), noise standards and sustainability requirements (EPC, BREEAM) etc.
  • Space classification: function and use of the various spaces in the building.
  • Ventilation rate: number of times per hour that the entire contents of the connected rooms must have been replaced with fresh air.
  • Air distribution plan: positioning of inlet and outlet valves.

  • Components: fans, airfilters, air diffusers, ducts, etc.
  • Pressure loss calculation: how much pressure is needed to move air throughout the system?
  • Noise aspects: noise reduction measures.
  • Control and operating system.
  • Maintenance plan.

If you have an aerodynamic design, we will advise you which configuration best suits your situation. Don't have an air technical design yet and want to spar about what your customer needs? That is also possible. We would be happy to help you.

A great example of a complete ventilation system that works and meets the set requirements and standards is our new ClimaPac Compact: a plug- and-play system for ventilation. But also for cooling and heating. In mmn turnkey, pre-completely configured unit by us for situations requiring a range from 600 m3 to a maximum of 11,800 m3. That makes the ClimaPac Compact immediately ready for use. Easy and lightning fast. Without fuss.

Construction and arrangement of installations
When constructing and setting up installations, it is important to consider several issues that are relevant to you as an installer. For example, consider the strength of the roof structure (can it support the installation?), the space you need (can I easily access the installation for maintenance?) and safety. For the latter, consider, for example, that you do not place an installation too close to the eaves, so that you can safely access it if necessary. STULZ advises and helps you with these aspects; we know what it's all about.

Choice of suppliers
As a rule, to install a ventilation system, you need several components and parties. This is tenslo only the installation itself, but also the associated air ducts, silencers, air vents, etc. But of course also a party that provides the lifting work for you. STULZ has the contacts and helps you easily and quickly so that you do not waste time unnecessarily.

On-site delivery to the customer's premises
And then, of course, there is the moment when the installation and all of its components are delivered to your customer's location. That too requires attention. Often, after the customer's order

Work according to tight project schedules. It is important that you fit in seamlessly with these, so that your client has his installation available quickly and on time. Here, too, STULZ is at your side. If you opt for the ClimaPac Compact, we generally deliver within 4-6 weeks of placing your order.

Grant opportunities
At slo it is often still interesting to look into possible subsidies with and for your customer when you install a ventilation system. There are several possibilities for subsidies on (parts of) ventilation systems. Consider, for example, the ISDE subsidy and the BOSA subsidy for sports accommodations. Some municipalities offer specific schemes for sustainable building projects, where it is worth inquiring about possible subsidies for ventilation systems.

Practice
As an installer, you can think out everything in advance when it comes to installing a ventilation system. In any case, experience has taught us at STULZ that practice often deviates from pre- conceived scenarios. This is why STULZ also offers on-site support and advice at your customer's premises.

Want to spar about your project before or during installation: take advantage of our support for speciic challenges and feel free to contact us. Or meanwhile, have you become curious about the ClimaPac Compact's ease of installation and lightning-fast installation time? We'll show you which project the ClimaPac Compact can support you on.
