Industrial humidifier: Function principle
Isothermal humidifier
Water is heated to boiling point inside the steam cylinder to produce steam. Voltage is applied to the dipped electrodes, so that electrical energy flows from them through the water to produce heat.
The strength of the current is purely a factor of the properties of the feed water. The more minerals there are in the water, the higher its conductivity and therefore the faster the required quantity of steam is produced.
Resistance steam humidifier
The water is heated to 100 °C by electric heating resistors - as in an immersion heater. The drinking water does not have to meet any specific requirements here, as no current flows through the water. Only the water hardness should not be too high to avoid excessive lime deposits.
